Why?
To hold space for people to talk and listen to feel heard, seen, and a sense of belonging.
Who?
Anyone who likes to read, hear other’s point of view, and / or share their own. The book club appeals to anyone interested in spiritual approaches regardless of religious orientation.
When?
The book club meets the third Sunday of each month on Zoom.

How?
We will talk about beauty, wonder, puzzlement, and anything that speaks to us in the books.
To quote Rumi: “Come, come, whoever you are!”
Anyone should feel welcome to come if they can, regardless of how much or how little they read the book under discussion.
What do we read?
We read a wide variety of literature, since readers with spiritual sensibilities can find and create spiritual dimensions in every book or reading.
Please pay as you are able
The suggested donation to participate is $20, which supports Centering Space, "a place where people can come and listen to their hearts and hear the voice of God." However, anyone should feel welcome to participate regardless of whether or not you can pay.

A Council of Dolls
Don't believe everything you think!
The dolls still live!
We need to see everything as sacred and meaningful
The suffering we impose onto others is the suffering we impose onto ourselves, even in ways we may not initially perceive. So to share love with others is to share love with ourselves.
Super interesting, I learned a lot and I could have listened to you all day!
Dolls allow us space to practice our own inner, rich worlds
I am going to check in with our denomination's outreach to Native Americans. I also wonder if a doll I gave to one of our daughters is still in her possession.

Akhenaten was the first pharaoh to put forward the belief in one God rather than many gods. It caused quite a stir at the time. Told through a chorus of voices of those who knew, loved, or despised the controversial pharaoh, the book sheds light onto poly- and monotheism in Egyptian history, the deep history of Judaism and Christianity, mysticism, and women’s leadership in religion (Akhenaten’s wife was the famous Nefertiti).
